These lesson plans are for all ages from pre-K to High School! You get all six lesson plans in this product, so you can mix and match books and projects to suit your needs. All books are linked for your ease as are all the projects. Each project has a link to a video tutorial. You can use this digitally with the links or print it out and add the dates and days you are reading the books and doing the projects.

Lesson plans are divided into Pre-K and Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd Grade, 3rd & 4th Grade, 5th & 6th grade and 7th, 8th and 9th grade (which includes much of the content from 5th and 6th grade).

Copywork and Dictation Bundle

Copywork and Dictation for the Muslim child is a curriculum using ayat which mention the 99 names Allah as content for copywork, dictation and memory work.

Each week a name of Allah will be focused for the duration of the week. On Day 1 of the week, the new sentence is presented and the student copies the sentence in the workbook. On Day 2 (the the previous lesson covered by a piece of paper), the teacher reads the sentence to the student who then writes the sentence into the workbook. Upon completion of the sentence, the student self corrects by checking the previous lesson. Mistakes are erased and corrected right away. Day 3 and Day 4 are repeats of the first two days and Day 5, the students writes the sentence from memory.

These lessons are short lasting 5 minutes in Level 1 to less than 15 minutes in Level 3. These lessons are designed to be semi-self guided, short and repetitive. The repetitive nature of this curriculum is purposeful. The goals for the week’s worth of lessons can be multifold depending on which aspects you wish to focus on. Goals may include, handwriting, spelling, grammar and punctuation, memory work, memorization of the 99 Names, memorization of the ayat (or portions of the ayat) in Arabic, as well as listening and comprehension skills.

Levels get progressively more challenging, but the format remains the same. By Level 3, a student may choose to use a fountain pen for copywork and a pencil for dictation, but in Level 1 and 2, a pencil is recommended.

While this curriculum is geared towards the Muslim family, it is intended for everyone.

It can be used as a copywork and dictation curriculum to support multi-cultural studies, religious studies and lessons of diversity and inclusion.

Geometry Course Grades 5th-8th

This course includes 11 Live Geometry Lesson I did with my 13-year-old son. We work through geometric symmetry of a circle from 3-fold to 12-fold symmetry. This course is a stand alone course that complements a Waldorf Main Lesson block on geometry. You may use this as an introduction to Waldorf inspired geometry or to add to your geometry lessons. In addition to the Course Lessons, I’ve included 20 geometry tutorials from our previous Geometry units as well as 10 short video tutorials on 3-Fold to 12-Fold symmetry. This way, you can choose to do some of those lessons and activities as well to fill out your lesson or to support your existing geometry unit.

Golden Age of Islam Lesson Plans

The Golden Age of Islam lesson plans are for grades 1-12 and span 12 weeks. Each week is a two-page spread which includes opening activity suggestions, main lesson block content (books), hands-on activities, geometry lessons, and recipes. Each book includes a grade level (or levels) it’s suitable for though you may find that your student is better suited with a different book.

I include the lesson plans for all grades together so you can mix and match which books you wish to use. Many books can be found at the library, but if not, you can swap out a resource for something you have available.

Most resources are for all audiences except for some resources which are written by Muslims for a Muslim audience. I do believe that those resources are still valuable for all audiences though there may be Arabic text that is not translated. The lesson plans go into more detail.

These lesson plans include many resources for the high schooler. While we have read through many of the resources suggested, there are some we have not read yet. There may be resources suggested that turn out to be subpar additions to this unit. You can find a a review of these materials on the blog post for our Golden Age of Islam unit. Additional projects and recipes can be found on the blog post as well.

Lesson plans are a total of 30 pages. The first 4 pages explain how to use the lesson plans. The next 24 pages are the 12-week lesson plans and the final 2 pages are notes and book list pages where you can organize and personalize your lessons plans.

Hajj Unit Lesson Plans

These lesson plans are included in the Hajj Main Lesson Block Curriculum.

Welcome to the Lesson Plans for the Hajj Main Lesson Block. This unit is scheduled for 4 weeks. These lesson plans may be used independently or in conjunction with the Hajj Main Lesson Block curriculum. These lessons are appropriate for students of any faith or those who do not identify with a faith. The lessons are designed for ‘family’ use in that the lessons are well suited for grades Kindergarten through 6th grade (even through 8th grade), so may be done with multiple grades or ages. Each lesson content is appropriate for multiple grade levels, but lesson work reflects the ability of the student.
